Moke Battery Troubleshooting

Moke Battery Removal and Replacement

Following the purchase of your eMoke, you can anticipate spending years behind the wheel enjoying fun in the sun in your favorite LSV. Moke America™ puts great care into crafting each and every eMoke, but unexpected battery issues can arise no matter how meticulously the model was built. Moke battery replacements should be performed by professionals, but if you ever want to test or remove the batteries, Moke America of Lewes wants to ensure you do it right. Follow this step-by-step guide to properly remove the battery trays to see if you need to order replacement Moke batteries.

How To Remove Moke Batteries

Gain Clearance To Battery Trays:

Use your jack and stands to raise the Moke so there is at least 17-inches of clearance. One jack stand should be placed on each corner of the Chassis Frame.

Jack Placement For Removal:

Along the underside of your Moke, you may see scuff marks from installation indicating where you should place the jack under the tray. If the scuffs are not visible, measure 29 ½ inches from the back of your eMoke and place the jack on the tray.

Tray Removal:

Keep in mind that each Moke battery tray weighs 250 lbs. Use caution when handling the trays and refrain from dropping them on the ground during removal. Unscrew and remove all 16 bolts from the underside of your eMoke. Carefully remove the battery tray and place it on the ground below the eMoke. There are two battery trays in total, one on each side of the eMoke.
